This Pharmacy Technician position at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital is responsible for ensuring efficient and safe medication distribution functions, including triaging phone calls, repackaging medications, dispensing medications, and inventorying medications.
Main Responsibilities:

- Perform accurate calculations required for usual dosage determinations.
- Report any problems to the appropriate parties and accurately document paperwork.
- Identify trends and improve processes to meet department and hospital targets for quality and safety.

- Maintain accurate records and prioritize daily tasks effectively.

Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent education is required. Two years of college are preferred.
- The ideal candidate has zero experience; one year of Pharmacy Technician experience applicable to the specific work setting is highly preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- A licensed Pharmacy Tech - State Registration (Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration) is necessary.
- A Reg Pharmacy Intern - State Licensure is also required.
- Intravenous certification (ACPE) if applicable to assigned work area within 90 days is highly recommended.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language is necessary to perform essential functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers is crucial.
