This expert role provides professional patient nursing care to a diverse patient population and collaborates with Nurse Directors, Managers, and Charge Nurses to develop guidance for caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides lactation support or education to patients in various settings and maintains open communication with clinical teams.
- Serves as a consultative resource for staff and physicians, fostering healthy relationships within the work environment.
- Improves nurse satisfaction by mentoring and modeling best practices, as evidenced by teamwork and interprofessional relationship scores.
Service Line Responsibilities:
- Assesses patient educational and lactation support needs, providing resources and clinical support across the entity and community.
- Plans, develops, and implements programs related to patient educational needs, including lactation support and breastfeeding education classes.
Quality/Safety Responsibilities:
- Role models assessment, clinical documentation, leadership, and analytical skills, contributing to professional practice standards and quality/safety initiatives.
- Leads initiatives to improve quality and safety scores through peer-to-peer accountability, reporting near misses, and identifying solutions.
Finance Responsibilities:
- Manages time and prioritizes daily tasks effectively, participating in the efficient utilization of resources and meeting department financial targets.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
Work Experience:
- Three years of clinical experience in lactation support, mother/baby, and/or patient educational activities/programs.
Licenses and Certifications:
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation.
- Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification - in a women's services specialty.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
