Description:
The RN PRN position is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, conducting thorough assessments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.
This role requires a licensed staff nurse who functions at the competent to proficient stage of clinical practice. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, including conducting assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.
- Collaborates with physicians and interprofessional healthcare teams to facilitate, coordinate, and maintain quality care.
- Acts as a patient and family advocate, monitoring and maintaining patient rights, and promoting a safe and respectful environment.
- Assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility, participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Two years of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
- RN-Temp - Registered Nurse - Temporary State Licensure within 60 days.
- Other credentials and certifications as defined by unit/service line.
Working Conditions:
May require travel within the Houston Metropolitan area. Requires sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.
