Overview
JOB SUMMARYAt Houston Methodist, the Business and Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for the coordination of Community and/or Employer Relations development and management for the purpose of business growth. Works closely with leadership to ensure activities related to employer and/or community relations are aligned with the hospital strategic plan(s) and objectives and with growth initiatives targeted to community members. Develops, manages or assists with the hospital community benefit programs in collaboration with system efforts and resources and is responsible for community benefits activities. Develops, implements and measures the effectiveness of community and employer relations efforts and programs. Collaborates with executives, leadership team, physician liaisons, and/or corporate employer health services to build and improve as needed, relationships with the community, employers and school districts. May coordinate functions and activities such as health fairs and speaking engagements for physicians and/or within the community and targeted employers. Communicates and interacts on a regular basis with the Senior Leadership Team and directors and managers or other departments within the hospital.

Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required. An additional four years experience in addition to the minimum experience requirement below can be considered in lieu degree.
- Three years of progressive experience in the area of public relations, marketing, community relations, sales, business or fund development
- Hospital or healthcare related experience preferred
License/Certification
