JOB SUMMARY
At Houston Methodist, the Supervisor, Supply Chain Logistics position is responsible for overseeing Supply Chain Warehouse department operations of units that provide materials management to Houston Methodist. This position supervises daily activities and has oversight of a team performing a variety of functions including inventory control and storage, stock item distribution and inbound and outbound shipments functions. In addition, the Supervisor, Supply Chain Logistics position serves as the next higher level of reporting for department customers. This position is responsible for a variety of functions including establishing supply chain practices that ensure the most efficient and accurate methods for clients' requests and meeting established delivery schedules, assisting in maintaining and monitoring inventory integrity through best practices. The Supervisor, Supply Chain Logistics position is the subject matter expert for department operations.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

PEOPLE - 30%
- Provides support, feedback and guidance to immediate staff and promotes a team dynamic to ensure successful outcomes. (EF)

- Works collaboratively with Supply Chain management to assess critical needs and maintain established lines of communications, reducing errors to customer base. (EF)

SERVICE - 30%
- Provides feedback to management on issues conveyed, root cause analysis and actions taken to correct deficiencies. Provides continual updates to management regarding additions, changes, substitutions and deletions, as appropriate. (EF)
- Initiates and collaborates with leaders to establish productivity measures, review and improve team performance for work produced. (EF)
- Initiates reporting procedures and facilitates processes to address inventory levels, receiving items or order fulfilment, as appropriate. (EF)
QUALITY/SAFETY - 20%
- Establishes protocol and procedures for quality control with a direct emphasis toward maintaining cleanliness of products handled, order accuracy and the integrity of items packaged for shipment. Provides close monitoring of lot expiration and ensures First In First Out (FIFO) methodologies are maintained in management of items stored, as appropriate. (EF)
- Establishes workplace procedures which provide training and continual emphasis on safe operations within a warehousing environment and in alignment with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Provides initial or bi-annual training and certification to all SCM staff for appropriate equipment handling and regulatory guidelines for documentation and reference, as needed. (EF)
- Assumes responsibility coordinating the department and facilitates corrective actions for items identified. Assigns back up resource to ensure timely actions are taken. (EF)
FINANCE - 10%
- Reviews time and attendance of staff and minimizes incidents of unauthorized overtime. (EF)
- Works to mitigate incidents of loss or shrinkage for items managed and reports recognized events or trends as needed. (EF)
- Conducts scheduled inventory events and assumes responsibility for documented outcomes, as necessary. (EF)
GROWTH/INNOVATION - 10%
- Maintains progressive knowledge of best practices involving the application of current order distribution or pick technologies, material handling equipment and work flow software to improve service or determine the best use of labor. (EF)
- Maintains a working knowledge of Warehouse Education and Research Council (WERC) for application within the operations of the Distribution Center and standards and develops skills of team members through a positive and constructive teaching environment. (EF)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent education (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.)
- Associate's degree preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Three years of inventory management, order fulfillment and/or distribution experience
