At Houston Methodist, the Talent Acquisition Sourcer position is responsible for creating a positive customer experience to applicants and engaging in strategic and tactical sourcing by pursuing every available outlet (job boards, alumni networks, events etc.) to attract diverse, top talent to fill current and future needs. The Talent Acquisition Sources position proactively seeks potential candidates, accurately capturing contact information, and selling Houston Methodist opportunities to encourage prospective candidates to apply, delivering metrics necessary to achieve "best in class" talent acquisition. The Talent Acquisition Sourcer position ensures consistency of employer brand to attract and recruit diverse, top talent, placing a heavy emphasis on prescreening candidates to share our Employee Value Proposition and to immediately understand the candidate's interest and career path. This position also partners with other Human Resources team members and vendors to successfully meet client's talent objectives.
Requirements :
PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Partners with client-facing recruiting team to understand staffing needs and develops a proactive, innovative sourcing / recruitment strategy to attract and recruit top talent. Proactively builds community relationships to execute creative and innovative sourcing strategies.
- Conducts cold calls to passive candidates to present opportunities for critical, difficult and visible positions. Develops and maintains network and database of potential candidates for skill sets that are needed repeatedly for pivotal and critical roles for future reference including pipeline of passive candidates. Communicates both positive and negative information to job applicants that preserves applicant goodwill.
- Collaborates with entity HR team members to generate ideas, leverage resources and share information that facilitates an effective search process.
- Contributes towards improving department score for turnover / retention / employee engagement, using peer-to-peer accountability.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicates status of searches with the recruiter(s) on a consistent and timely basis. Makes recommendation to recruiting partner and hiring manager(s) on the referral of the qualified candidates. Facilitates recruiters and hiring leaders commit to providing appropriate, timely feedback.Using social networking mediums (i.e., LinkedIn groups and other online forums), promotes employment brand messaging that drives traffic to Houston Methodist jobs by establishing and cultivating positive relationships. Participates in media planning to determine media contracts.Manages responses to applicants including but not limited to : receipt of candidate's expression of interest, sourced lead status and specific information reconciling applicant qualifications relative to job requirements. Provides information on Houston Methodist opportunities to applicants, emphasizing the employer of first choice.QUALITY / SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs structured screening to ensure applicants meet both job and organization requirements. Ensures recruitment practices demonstrate Houston Methodist's commitment to Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies.Performs advanced sourcing to include extensive Internet-based research, data mining and other sourcing techniques to build active and passive candidates pipelines for management and hard-to-fill positions in shared recruiter resources within social media applications such as LinkedIn.Maintains and reports Recruitment Metrics for assigned departments / key jobs on a regular scheduled basis. Meets / exceeds efficient recruitment metrics.FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Executes a proactive, innovative, cost-effective recruitment / sourcing strategy to target a diverse pool of qualified applicants for vacancies.Utilizes external resources with cost effectiveness and value creation in mind. Self-motivated to independently manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks, assisting coworkers as needed.Maintains knowledge of current health care system employee benefits, salary structures, etc. Follows budget guidelines with respect to recruitment costs and expenses.GROWTH / INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Identifies appropriate search mediums to support executive staffing. Develops search and staffing strategies for executive level, management, and key strategic / hard-to-fill positions as assigned.Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the areas of Recruiting, Human Resources and healthcare by reading appropriate books, journals, articles and literature and attending professional development activities. Seeks opportunities to identify self-development needs and takes appropriate action. Ensures own career discussions occur with appropriate management. Qualifications : EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in business administration, communication, human resources, marketing or other related fieldWORK EXPERIENCE
Two years of recruiting experience with at least one year in a sourcing roleHuman Resources exposure in a healthcare or service industry environment preferredLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
