Job Title : CNC Operator – Aerospace Fasteners
Job Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Operator to join our team. The CNC Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision aerospace fasteners and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC machining principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities :
Set up and operate CNC machines, including but not limited to lathes, mills, and grinders.
Load and unload parts from machines.
Inspect parts for quality and accuracy using precision measuring instruments.
Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines.
Perform basic machine maintenance and repairs.
Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work with engineering and quality control departments to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
Selects appropriate tooling and cutting parameters for optimal machining performance.
Performs program prove-out and troubleshooting on CNC machines.
Maintains accurate programming documentation and revisions.
Operating :
Sets up and operates CNC machines (lathes, mills, 5 axis, etc.) to machine aerospace fasteners.
Loads and unloads parts, verifies proper fixturing, and ensures correct tooling is used.
Monitors machine operation, makes necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and production rates.
Performs in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNC Operator.
Experience operating CNC machines, e.g., Haas, Mazak.
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with multi-axis machining.
Knowledge of material properties and machining characteristics.
Experience with AS9100 quality management system.
