Job Summary
Introduce and enforce all water safety policies and procedures. Supervise members and guests in and around the swimming pool. A pool attendant is responsible for maintaining the proper appearance of swimming pools and surrounding areas. Keep a close eye on the users of the swimming pools and associated facilities to ensure safe behavior and assist with problems. Pool attendants need stamina and a good level of physical fitness.
Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operations, it may be necessary for each employee to perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
Job Tasks (Essential Functions)
Supervise and observe swimmers at all times to ensure their safety. Be familiar with TAE staff and their company policies
Maintain cleanliness of pool amenities, changing rooms, bathrooms and showers.
Enforce all pool rules and regulations. (located in pool binder and hanging on pool gates)
Straighten the pool and cabana area throughout the day.
Enforce proper use all pool safety equipment.
Complete required pool pre-opening duties.
Inform pool manager about unresolved member or guest disruptions that could cause a safety problem.
Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the swimming pool manager.
Greet and check in members and guests in a friendly manner.
Develop and maintain a friendly relationship with members and guests.
Answer all questions politely.
Enforce all club rules fairly and consistently.
Refer all problems or complaints to manager promptly.
Pick up debris and trash on pool deck and grounds.
Straighten chairs.
Wipe off tables and counters.
Clean and maintain restrooms.
Clean and prepare pool area for the following day’s use.
Not permitted to idly chat with friends or co-workers while clocked in on the job.
20. In order to maintain a level of professionalism, cell phone use is only permitted in cases of emergency.
21. Not permitted to allow unauthorized friends or relatives use of the facility.
22. Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Fitness & Pools Assistant Managers and / or Director of Fitness & Pools.
