Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for expanding our company’s presence both in and beyond central Houston by securing new facility contracts and increasing the number of venues where we run our leagues. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for selling and executing corporate and sponsorship opportunities, managing accounts, and ensuring seamless event execution. The ideal candidate is an autonomous, tech-savvy professional with industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and secure new facility contracts to expand our league operations into new territories.
- Develop and sell corporate and sponsorship opportunities that align with the company’s brand and mission.
- Own and execute lead generation strategy, collaborating with marketing as needed.
- Manage media sales, corporate advertising, and promotional strategies.
- Maintain sales reports, track progress, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Event Execution & Operations:
- Plan and execute events on time and within budget, ensuring high-quality experiences for all stakeholders.
- Assist with league and corporate event execution, ensuring seamless operations.
- Oversee sponsor and partner account management, ensuring strong relationships and optimal partnership fulfillment.
- Coordinate corporate and sponsor advertising efforts, maximizing brand exposure and ROI.
- Organize regular player parties at participating Sponsor Bars
Customer Experience & Retention:
- Enhance overall customer experience, sales, and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement a customer loyalty program and promotional events.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, sponsors, and community partners.
Special Projects & Additional Responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of special projects, including youth leagues and pick-up games.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to drive growth and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or sponsorship management within the sports, events, or social industries.
- Strong ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with internal teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Tech-savvy with experience using CRM systems, marketing tools, and sales platforms.
- Passion for sports, events, and social engagement is a plus.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for event execution.
