Description
Howard County Library System (HCLS) is seeking dynamic summer STEM course leads, instructors, and registration personnel for our STEM education programs for middle and high school students in Howard County, MD.
We are looking for college students and graduates with Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related majors or degrees who have a strong interest and ability to teach youth (ages of 11-18). We believe that education should be project-based and fun and invite STEM-focused folks to apply!
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing site supervision
- Leading STEAM curriculum instruction
- Overseeing the evaluation process
- Resolving onsite matters
- Ensuring projects are completed and assisting when needed

Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor of Science or Arts in STEM OR STEM Education field; must have demonstrated experience working in a STEM career or teaching STEM curriculum
- Must have experience working/engaging with teens
- Transferrable knowledge in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
- Passion for teaching STEM topics and ability to teach existing curriculum
- Extraordinary customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and perform under tight deadlines
- Supervisory experience is strongly preferred
Dates:
- June 5th – August 11th (start dates are negotiable)
Hours:
- 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
