Daycare Director
Howard County Medical Center invites applications for the position of Daycare Director at its location in St. Paul, Nebraska. The Daycare Director is responsible for the overall operation of the childcare facility including managing staff, developing curriculum, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, maintaining parent relationships, adhering to regulations, and overseeing the financial health of the center.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.
- Oversee the daily workflow, scheduling, and operations of the daycare center.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff members.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with policy.
- Structure a developmentally appropriate educational experience in compliance with the guidelines and standards set by the local board of education, and the state department of education.
- Oversee and assist teachers and teaching assistants with implementation of the program.
- Oversee the administration of the center.
- Oversee all ancillary childcare services.
- Monitor classroom instruction; provide constructive feedback and training.
- Communicate regularly with daycare staff concerning identified behavioral or learning difficulties in children; suggest ways to improve the situation.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents.
- Encourage parental involvement in and support of daycare programs.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the facility.
- Enforce safety and security standards for children, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain required paperwork and reports on students, daycare operations, incident reports, and other documentation.
- Provide or lead workshop and training sessions that are beneficial for teachers and teaching assistants.
- Purchase and negotiate contracts to purchase instructional materials and teaching aids, including developmentally appropriate books, toys, and games.
- Create, plan, develop, and implement the annual budget.
- Maintain current knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
