POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs technical level administrative support work at the Water Reclamation Plant. Tracks cost data, prepares contract documents and monitors the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system.

STARTING SALARY HIRING RANGE:
$21.55 - $27.39
$44,824 - $56,971

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Performs advanced technical level administrative support work, which may include supervisory responsibility, under general supervision from an administrative or technical superior. Work typically involves performing responsible clerical and secretarial work essential to the successful operation of a specialized function. Work may also include supervision of data entry staff and coordination and work scheduling of the data entry function. Work at this level may also include independent responsibility for a moderately complex clerical process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other related duties may be assigned:

  • Generate Reports as needed for the maintenance management system to include hours worked, material used and costs, overtime hours and inventory control. Other reports include water usage, sewer master meters, pump station run times and generator run times.
  • Monitor SCADA system and call out alarms to designated personnel and record runtime hours during weekly generator exercise.
  • Manage employee uniforms to include ordering, replacement, returns and reconciling monthly invoice.
  • Enter data into the CMMS and extract custom reports from the CMMS using Excel and Word programs.
  • Create preventive maintenance work order tasks in the CMMS from the O&M manuals.
  • Update CMMS system information for new equipmen.t
  • Assist in inventory management to include, issuing parts to trades groups when the Store Technician is not available, inventory counting and updating the CMMS with inventory information.
  • Maintain updated phone lists and other vital documents.
  • Answers incoming phone calls.
  • Process employee overtime meal tickets, mileage, premium payment reimbursements, invoices and create purchase orders through SAP
  • Tracking weather related event expenses.
  • May assist in managing vendor contracts.
  • May perform overtime work.
  • This position is considered emergency essential, and, as such, the incumbent may be required to report for regular work shift during inclement weather, or then when an emergency situation arises.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Competency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of asset management practices.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience developing preventative maintenance task descriptions for equipment.
  • Ability to understand parts diagrams and order necessary spare parts.
  • Knowledge of a computer- based inventory control system helpful.
  • Ability to make routine arithmetic computations.
  • Ability to read and understand, parts manuals, catalogs, and cross-reference procedures.
  • Ability to maintain basic and customized records and reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors and general public.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Class C Maryland Driver's License.
