What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Technician position at Howard Industries?

Network Technician

Assist and organize with tissues via phone, email, and text, as well as provide resolution to all issues, as necessary.
Troubleshoot end-user desktop issues related to networking and phone issues.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues create documentation for resolutions
Configure and troubleshoot network connections for desktops, network equipment, and VOIP telephones.
Have a basic understanding of WiFi networks and related wireless devices
Have a basic understanding of network wiring.
Assist with the creation of network infrastructure (pull needed wiring and cables, install cabinets and enclosures, terminate fiber, terminate CAT5 / CAT6 cabling)
Install basic network equipment (switches, routers, wireless equipment) not including configuration of software.
Keep track of inventory and submit orders for restock
Be able to work nights and weekends. Be on-call as needed.
Be able to walk or stand for long periods of time
Be able to obtain a Class D Commercial Drivers license
Be comfortable operating machinery

Qualifications :

Associate's Degree in a computer related field or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience

Must have a reliable method of transportation and the ability to travel as necessary

Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and typing)

Comfortable with use of hand tools (Drills, Screwdrivers, etc)

Task Oriented with ability to complete projects with little to no supervision.

Ability to work in all types of environmental conditions (hot / cold, indoor / outdoor)

Ability to identify needed action without continual direction.

Must model the highest degree of moral and ethical behavior

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to maintain an excellent working relationship with co-workers.

Avid interest in technology and expanding knowledge base to stay on top of industry technology trends.

Ability to explain and document procedures verbally and in writing.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Dependable, punctual, and solutions oriented and flexibility in the work schedule is required.
