What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Assistant position at Howard's Drug?
About us
Howard's Drug is a family owned and operated independent pharmacy in Selah, Washington. We have served the healthcare needs of our community for over 23 years and were voted "Best Pharmacy in the Valley" by the Yakima Valley Business Times for 7 consecutive years. We take pride in providing superior customer service and maintaining a home-town feel.
We are looking for a positive and outgoing individual to join our team. The pharmacy assistant's daily role involves greeting customers, collecting payment for prescription medications, answering phones, organizing and alphabetizing prescriptions that are available for pick-up, managing cash drawers, managing inventory and orders, and keeping the workplace orderly and clean. This is a fast-paced environment that also requires great attention to detail. Even while we strive to help our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible, care must be taken to ensure that mistakes are not made. The ideal candidate will be someone who is compassionate, respectful to others, eager to learn, reliable and adaptable. The pharmacy assistant is the first person our customers interact with and often the last, so it is imperative that each interaction reflects the high level of care and service that we desire for our community. In turn, working in a community pharmacy is extremely rewarding as we are able to invest in our neighbors and directly impact our local health care system.
