Our client, a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer and distributor of brass fittings , is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their team. Founded in 1946 , the company specializes in industrial fittings used in heavy-duty trucks, industrial applications, plumbing, and HVAC , selling primarily to wholesalers and independent distributors .
Position Overview :
This full-time, in-office role is essential to the company’s operations, ensuring efficient procurement and inventory management. With no one in this role for almost two years , the Purchasing Manager will play a key role in driving business success by managing supplier relationships, optimizing purchasing decisions, and ensuring inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Create and manage purchase orders based on inventory needs and supplier capabilities.
- Analyze procurement needs to ensure the right parts and materials are ordered from the correct vendors.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the company.
- Oversee vendor relationships , primarily domestic, with a few international suppliers.
- Manage inventory and supply chain processes , including receiving products in the system and resolving discrepancies.
- Monitor pricing issues, shortages, and delays , implementing solutions as needed.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis to optimize purchasing decisions and ensure cost efficiency.
- Ensure accurate documentation of purchasing records and transactions.
