Job Summary
Accounts Receivable personnel play an important role in the finance department by ensuring the company is paid for its goods and services. This role requires a strong ability to maintain positive customer relations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Generating and sending out invoices to customers
- Communicating with customers to ensure collections of timely payments
- Applying customer payments
- Processing daily deposits for all sales channels
- Performing account reconciliations and monitoring customer account details
- Researching and resolving payment discrepancies
- Reviewing account statuses and generating age analyses
- Processing inventory adjustments and additions
- Assisting the Accounting Manager with special projects
- Ensuring an accurate and timely monthly and year-end close and assist in the year-end audit
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s procedures
Responsibilities:
- Must maintain a professional attitude.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Must be proficient in Windows-based spreadsheet/word processing packages.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills transferrable to all areas of the finance team including accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality, and applies feedback to improve performance.
- Maintain a helpful frame of mind; offer useful thoughts and ideas that can advance a situation for organizational learning.
Qualifications:
- Experience – 1-3 years of experience in accounting or office setting, with a willingness to learn. Customer service experience is a plus.
- Skills – Excel, and ERP systems.
- Responsibility – Providing timely and accurate accounting documents. Working with sensitive accounting information, documents, and reports. Must maintain the highest level of accountability toward confidentiality.
- Supervision received – Direct oversight by the Accounting Manager.
- Working conditions – Usual office working conditions
- Mental and physical demands – Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens. Must possess a strong ability to think and process data clearly and accurately.
