Howell's kitchen & bar is Looking for a Prep Cook to Join our Team!
We’re an eclectic American tavern serving up modern takes on the classics you know and love in the Underhills Neighborhood of Atlanta. Craftsmanship and service are at the heart of our bar and scratch kitchen - come in for food, drinks, bocce ball, and a spacious patio!
Hourly rate : $17 -$18 an hour, Based on experience.
Prep : AM shifts from 9 am-4 pm weekly.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. As a prep cook, you will assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great prep cook will be quick, diligent, and willing to improve on the job. You must be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy team environment. Job Responsibilities (included but not limited to) :
- Follows proper dress code and Servsafe / health department guidelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ensure line checks and temperature log structure are followed.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Follow the prep list and ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
- Assists in dishwashing during off-peak periods as needed.
- Opening and / or Closing of the kitchen properly and follows the checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in opening and / or closing the kitchen.
- Helps maintain the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, prep, walkins, restrooms, dish areas and outside areas through the daily / weekly / monthly cleaning lists.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or manager-on-duty.
