Blue Light Programmer - Inspection Services
Howmet Aerospace is currently seeking a **Blue Light Programmer - Inspection Services **at ourLaPorte, IN location. For this role, you will program and utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), Blue Light Scanners, and other equipment to dimensionally inspect castings, patterns, gauges, and fixtures in order to assess their conformance to established specifications.
What will you do in this role?
Utilize Analysis and 3D CAD software such as GOM, ATOS, UniGraphics, Geomagic, and Polyworks to interpret part geometry and complete Structured Light Measurement inspections and color maps.
Use various machines and hand tools to inspect parts and ensure they conform to specifications.
Communicate the results of the inspection and its analysis to product engineer.
Provide programming, database setup, and technical support for engineering and manufacturing requirements.
Perform routine production inspections as required.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior GOM software experienced required.
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints, instructions, and inspection requirements.
- Computer fluency, including Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) and AutoCAD / UG.
- Working knowledge of CMMs and their applications, including programming.
- Practiced familiarity with Layout Inspection procedures and results.
