Howmet Aerospace, Engines currently seeks a Data Analyst to join our team in Whitehall, Michigan! As a Data Analyst at the Howmet Research Center (HRC), you will join a team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers. This team is part of a high-performance multidisciplinary R&D team aiming to advance the state-of-the-art in aerospace manufacturing at our casting, alloy, core and rings facilities. As a Data Analyst, you will be expected to leverage your mastery of data analytic tools to build tools and perform exploratory data analysis to drive improvements in our production plants.

Able to supply more than 90% of structural and rotating aerospace engine components.

As a Data Analyst, you will be expected to leverage your mastery of data analytic tools to build tools and perform exploratory data analysis to drive improvements in our production plants.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and maintain Power BI dashboards for production use in engineering, manufacturing, finance, and machine learning monitoring
- Utilize DAX to create custom and dynamic measures
- Create clear and flexible visualizations
- Clean and prepare data using SQL and M-Code
- Work with internal customers to continuously improve dashboard quality and effectiveness
- Own the Power BI workspaces for the Howmet Research Center
- Assist in vetting and publishing reports
- Maintain workspace quality and security, and assist in improving report refresh rates
- Collaborate with corporate and local Power BI resources to drive best practices
- Design and build applications in Power Automate and Power Apps for production use
- Perform exploratory data analysis
- Analyze diverse data streams and factors to deliver actionable insights
- Assist in developing data quality monitoring systems
- Apply statistical testing to identify trends in data
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution is required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using Power BI that demonstrated applications of value-add
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Python for data analysis, especially pandas and common visualization packages like Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly
- Ability to work in a self-directed and cross-functional team environment.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditional upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Python for data analysis and visualization
- Microsoft 365 suite skills, including Power Automate and Power Apps
- Experience with time series analysis, control charting, and statistical process control
- Intermediate SQL knowledge (window functions, pivots, etc.)
- Experience with Azure, Databricks, and data lakes
- Experience with other engineering data tools: SAS, Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, Six Sigma, M-Code
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to work across various IT, manufacturing, and engineering departments at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and matrixed team environment
