Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Operates an adjustable band saw to perform skilled cutting operations; sawing, cross cutting of metal stock.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. • Selects sawing operations according to type of cut specified on work order and sets up machine for cut
• Change blades on saws
• Make measurements and mount billet stock amount on saw using crane, or other material handling equipment
• Turns hand wheel or crank to tip machine table to specified angle or to raise table according to specified depth of cut
• Positions guides on machine table according to specifications of cut, and turns knobs to set guides or bolts guides in place
• Starts machine, places metal on table against guides, and pushes stock against saw
• Measures cut stock with pi-tape, ruler, caliper, or square, or scale, to verify dimensions against specifications
• Ability to move parts on and off pallets
• Removes cut stock from machine and maintains production count
• Cleans and maintains saw
• Must have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions
• Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures
