Responsibilities
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking an Assistant Controller for our location in Torrance, CA. The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in the direct supervision of the day-to-day general accounting functions and coordinates the month-end closing process and daily / weekly monthly financial reporting. Assists in the development of financial plans and forecasts, and the analysis of operational results. Prime day-to-day responsibilities will be cost accounting, monitoring and reporting inventories, standard cost revisions, and operating the budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform as a Cost Accountant on a day-to-day basis. Assist and oversee the General Accounting functions such as fixed assets, inter-company accounting, and financial reporting.
- Support management financial requests for information through detailed analysis and reporting.
- Review and perform account reconciliations, and prepare journal entries.
- Perform timely and accurate financial closing and reporting.
- Support the operating budget process.
- Perform standard cost rolls.
- Support ad hoc Business unit / corporate requests.
- Assist in financial, internal, and government audits.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly review packages.
- Business partner to the operations leadership team
