Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to join our Howmet team in Niles, Ohio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering and management, with a proven track record of driving successful projects and fostering a collaborative team environment. The role entails various key responsibilities, including :
- Lead a team of engineers in an aerospace material, manufacturing-based organization in the fulfillment of titanium mill products.
- Lead problem solving efforts to reduce rework and product non-conformances
- Identify and lead opportunities to increase product yield from melt through finish products
- Provide commercial support for material master creation and new order confirmation / review
- New customer specification review and approval
- Support the production release of new ingot and product applications
- Provide disposition for non-conforming products
- Provide shop floor technical support
- Provide technical support to all outside OSP vendors
- Support the development of business cases for capital investments
- Complete new equipment and process qualifications
- Perform and maintain PFMEAs, control and reactions plan
- Lead the efforts in developing more robust manufacturing processes.
- Identify and support measurement systems improvements and process automation
- Assist with professional development of the engineering staff
