A growing industrial services company in the Raleigh-Durham area is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead its accounting function. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger (GL) management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on best practices.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for senior leadership.
- Work cross-functionally with operations and finance teams to support business decisions.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
- Improve internal controls, processes, and financial systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an industrial or services-based company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing month-end close and general ledger accounting.
- Leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor a team.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- CPA or CMA is a plus but not required.
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
