Accounting Manager

Our client, a $300M revenue manufacturing company, is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to join their team in Westbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for a public/private accountant looking to take on a leadership role in a growing, process-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Drive process automation and system improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage 1-2 direct reports, providing leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance.
• Perform hands-on accounting tasks, including cash reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Implement and refine internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Work cross-functionally with operations and finance teams to optimize financial processes.
• Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• 3-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Public accounting experience required—must be at least a Senior Associate (2nd-year preferred) or Manager level before transitioning to private industry.
• Public/private mix preferred, especially with manufacturing/tangible goods industry exposure.
• Experience with similar-sized companies (~$300M revenue) is a plus.
• NetSuite experience preferred or familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong focus on automation, change management, and process improvement.
• Ability to balance leadership responsibilities while being hands-on with technical accounting tasks.
