Job Responsibilities:
- Mange Sales team of 4-6 people
- Coach and help team with: 1. Understanding the sales process 2. Developing new business by qualifying the right customers 3. Setting bid prices, terms and overall negotiations 4. Using key lead generation tools for job selling
- Provide Outstanding Customer Service
- Write customer orders, mill orders and delivery orders and collect payment
- Assist customers with design and material list for projects
- Advise customers on lumber and hardware use to include bidding of projects
- Assist manager in maintaining a clean, organized, properly stocked store
- Open and close store as directed by manager
- Assist manager in updating hardware and lumber prices
- Assist in or complete end of day paperwork
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Conduct weekly meetings to discuss status updates, talk about bids, pricing, problems and other issues
- Develop strong relationships with key customers in office and field (i.e. contractors)
- Generate new business growth in the form of new accounts and increased sales (drive sales and get results!)
- Be involved with after post sale problem solving and ensure company commitments are met
- Get to know and understand competition in specific market
Requirements:
- 5 yr. Sales Management experience
- B2B Sales (specifically with contractors / DYI customers)
- Expertise in Construction Sales (plus)
- Proven track record in business and people development (i.e. building contractor relationships)
- Experience selling lumber and building materials
- Excellent relationship building skills (especially with contractors and team)
- Be an excellent leader, mentor, motivator and coach who will invest in growth and development of team and gain their respect
- Previous building supply knowledge required
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills (Required)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and up to 80 lbs on a random basis
Teamwork
- Ability to work as a team and help motivate others
- Must have an excellent attendance history with a work ethic to match
