Primary Duties
- Following all SOP’s and the best practices for the department
- Working in the Sandblast room
- Sandblasting shields and fixturing parts from vacuum coating machine
- Disassemble components from inside coating machines
- Reassemble components after sandblasting
- Cleaning and sandblasting metal rings for the coating machines
- Maintains workstation clean and organized per cleaning procedures
- Be able to multi-task, as required by workflow or Lab Manager
- Light record keeping on machine maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area
- Perform duties as requested by department Manager and Supervisors
- Maintain the machine cleanliness inside and out
- Be aware and careful to not damage the high value coating machine parts
- Complete other duties as assigned by leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in the Optical Industry as it relates to ophthalmic lenses is desired.
- Good hand to eye coordination.
- Able and willing to work as a team
- Basic Math
- Must be able to work Overtime, Saturdays and Sundays and some holidays when needed
- Able to read and write English Language well
- Able to analyze and record data accurately
- Experience or knowledge working with automated equipment
- Problem solving skills
- Work without constant supervision
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands and feet to manipulate, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. During maintenance, employee required to squat, stretch, twist, bend, and be able to work inside tight areas.
- Closed toe shoe required with heel support.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Employee is required to certify in the use of a respirator prior to beginning training.
- Must wear safety glasses, gloves and/or finger cuffs as required by the task.
