We are seeking a motivated Construction Management Intern to join The Hoyle Tanner Internship Program in our New England Municipal Engineering Division. This is a paid internship opportunity, and is based out of our Burlington, VT office. Start date is anticipated to be May / June of 2025.

Primary responsibilities include supporting the Construction Manager / Project Manager with duties as assigned, including :
- Assist with technical review, editing and assembly of construction documents (Drawings and Specifications) for the fields of civil engineering projects which could include transportation, environmental, water, wastewater and storm water engineering projects
- Assist with bidding municipal civil engineering projects including solicitation of and communication with bidders, attending and preparing meeting minutes for prebid on-site walkthroughs, reviewing and responding to bidder questions, evaluating bids received and making recommendations for contract award
- Assist with cost estimates for civil engineering projects during the design phase including solicitation of quotes and proposals from material supplies, utility agencies, etc.
- Attend construction meetings and assist with preparation of meeting minutes
- Assist with review of requirements from project funding agencies and coordination compliance
- Perform preliminary completeness review of construction submittals and distribute submittals to technical staff for review and comments (Requests for Information)
- Perform preliminary review of wage reporting and domestic preference material certifications as required on Federally funded projects
- Attend construction progress meetings
- Take and manage photographs of construction progress
- Manage and organize construction documentation folders, files and documents
- Assist design staff with design plans, construction observation, calculations and other contract preparation duties
