Hoyle Tanner has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer in our Aviation Services Division. Become part of a team of airport design professionals that include Project Managers, Airport Engineers, Airport Planners, Construction Managers and Construction Field Inspectors. This position can be based out of either our Manchester, NH, Portsmouth, NH, Chelmsford, MA or Burlington, VT office and is a hybrid remote position opportunity. The ideal candidate will be a strong contributor on a team tasked with delivering project designs for small, medium and large airports in the New England region as well as in Florida. You will be responsible for preparation of calculations, layouts, estimates and specifications under Senior Engineers and Project Managers, as well as lead and guide Junior Engineers and CADD teammates.

As a Project Engineer you will :
- Have a primary role in an integrated, multi-discipline team that solves technical challenges on projects of significant scop, size and difficulty
- Complete assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Project Manager
- Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development and project schedule
- Provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget
- Understand the client's organization, key people and expectations
- Share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team
- Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff
- Lead small team for moderately complex projects
- Assist in proposal efforts and development
- Provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to develop entry-level and Staff Engineers, peers and others as needed
- Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients / contractors
- Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals and presentations in a public setting (for clients and / or at seminars and conferences)
