Position: Product Manager – Cladding & Fire Pits

Location: Dayton, Ohio (applicants must reside in the greater Dayton area)

Position Overview

HPC Fire Inspired is seeking a Product Manager to lead and drive our lightweight concrete cladding and fire pits product lines. This role requires a strong technical background, market awareness, and a passion for innovation. The Product Manager will provide technical expertise to sales and customers, develop and review product specifications, research market trends and competitors, and collaborate with R&D to enhance and expand our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Expertise & Customer Support:

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for the sales teams, distributors, and customers.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing product specifications for both fire pits and cladding applications.
  • Provide technical training and support to internal teams and external partners.
  • Address customer inquiries related to installation, performance, and customization.
  • Develop and refine installation guides (in addition to specification sheets). Ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with industry best practices. Take full ownership of these documents; regularly updating them based on product improvements, customer feedback, and regulatory changes.
  • Research product testing requirements and building codes across different zones. Analyze how these regulations impact installation processes. Ensure compliance by integrating relevant standards into product specifications and installation guidelines.
  • Ensure product compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ICC, NFPA, and regional building codes) to position as a trusted, code-compliant solution.
  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification efforts to obtain necessary approvals that facilitate the company as a leader in sustainability.
  • Installer & Contractor Relationships: Develop a preferred contractor network, train installers on best practices to ensure quality control and reduce failure rates.

Market & Competitive Research:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges for both product lines.
  • Research competitor products, pricing, and positioning to ensure Dekko remains a market leader.
  • Gather customer and industry feedback to drive product development and marketing strategies.

Product Development & R&D Collaboration:

  • Work closely with R&D to recommend product improvements and new product ideas.
  • Develop and refine technical specifications based on market demand and customer needs.
  • Support product testing, certification, and compliance with industry standards.

Sales & Marketing Support:

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create technical sales materials, presentations, and training resources.
  • Assist in developing installation guidelines, best practices, and design recommendations.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer site visits to promote Dekko Cladding & Fire Pits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in product management, technical sales, or a related role in building materials, outdoor living, or manufacturing.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to interpret and develop product specifications.
  • Knowledge of cladding materials, fire pit technologies, and installation best practices is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
