Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings, including clinics, inpatient and outpatient facilities, and teaching hospitals. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care to enhance the well-being of individuals, particularly those in need of assistance due to medical conditions or age-related challenges.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff or healthcare providers.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following hygiene protocols.
- Support patients during medical appointments or procedures in various settings including PICU, OR, and Emergency medicine.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients in both inpatient and outpatient scenarios.
- Engage in activities that promote patient independence and dignity.
Skills
- Experience or knowledge in areas such as geriatrics, medical-surgical care, or emergency medicine is preferred.
- Familiarity with working in a teaching hospital or similar healthcare environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs across different settings including clinics and inpatient facilities.
- Basic understanding of patient care protocols and safety measures.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.96 - $11.36 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
