Job Description
The Designer creates and establishes simple designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. Designers apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects and provide guidance and leadership to drafters to ensure that all established Company and client design standards and practices are followed.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Piping Designer with CADWorx & Field experience to perform Field Walk down of existing P&ID’s, shoot elevation with level & tripod, locating tie point dimensionally, and Routing pipe through existing facilities.
- Some projects will utilize laser Scanning so experience with the 3D scan and CAD is a plus
- Experience with executing projects within existing facilities with obstructions and other design constraints.
- Generates design and detail drawings including orthographic, plans/sections, and isometrics to support Discipline Leads.
- Generates P&ID documentation
- Manages and maintains the Project Documentation (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings).
- Assists in developing design and detailed drawings including 3D models, piping plans/isometrics and assisting in field work as necessary.
- Interacts with other departments and disciplines to obtain pertinent information.
- Must have the ability to work with Sr. Designers and grow within the organization. Qualifications:
- High School or GED equivalent with preference for completion of an associate degree * Five (5) years design/drafting experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Word, Excel and CAD software.
- Valid driver’s license Work Authorization:

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at time.
- In some cases, the site working environment may include outside conditions and exposure to high temperatures.
- May require extended overnight travel to another client location/facility or the home office.
- Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
