Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer (SME) will be able to take a design from conception to completion with little or no supervision. Must be able to work well as a member of a team, give instructions to junior engineers, designers, meet client expectations, and deliver projects by given deadlines.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

• Experience utilizing software tools such as Caesar, Promax and Inventor
• Develops and review mechanical specifications for equipment pertinent to execution of the job
• Participates in project meetings at the request of the Project Manager
• Conceptual and detailed specification or design of mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, tanks, pipes, valves, and fittings
• Works with other engineering and design staff in the development of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) for each project
• Competently review equipment drawings and constructions documents
• Accurately evaluate SOW to estimate staffing requirements, equipment needs, and other related costs for RFPs to active or potential clients
• Projects assigned by the Engineering Manager, Director of Operations, or upper management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or in related field.
• Seven (7) to Ten (10) years related experience required.
• Intermediate to Expert skills in Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with quick responses to new issues.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, prioritize tasks, and delegate when appropriate.
• Experience with pipeline hydraulics, pipe stress or HVAC is a plus
• Valid driver’s license

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to sit, stoop, prolonged walking during field trips
