- Product Labeling and QC Supervisor Role
The regulated nature of New York’s cannabis industry includes numerous mandatories on product label claims, warnings, and disclaimers. Adherence to these regulations with accuracy is imperative for maintaining an efficient flow of products from production to finished goods for statewide wholesale. Attention to detail, organization, and systems management skills are necessary for this role. Holding such importance, HPI has recently created space for a dedicated sub-department in Manufacturing to oversee the design and application of variable data labels. The supervisor of this sub-department will manage the systematizing and templatizing HPI’s label program and work with Manufacturing managers to onboard automatic where possible. This role interfaces closely with the Testing Supervisor as well as the Compliance Director. The role is a direct report to the Manufactured Goods Manager.
- Responsibilities:
- Manage and Oversee Label Design and Application for all Finished Goods
- Refer to CoA results for variable information on each product batch.
- Efficient use and maintenance of facility printer equipment.
- Manage production associates for label application in a timely and efficient manner.
- Development and Maintenance of Label Templatization System
- Work with Manufactured Goods Manager to ensure all HPI Finished Goods items have completed label templates.
- Inventory Management
- Manage all inventory and counts for product batches as they are transferred to Labeling sub-department ensuring minimal to zero count discrepancies
- Utilize Production Software to Track Progress
- Daily use of Production Software to track progress (Distru, Trello, Google Drive, etc.)
- Production KPI Reporting
- Track team output numbers and provide data on a regular cadence to Manufactured Goods Manager.
- Regular Cross-Departmental Communications
- Communicate daily with other Manufacturing supervisors as well as Compliance Director to ensure cohesion and flag any potential issues before and as they arise.
- Perform QC checks on all Product Packaging and Labeling
- Ensure there are no mistakes on printed labels.
- Ensure there are no issues with product packaging.
- Qualifications
- Strong background in software implementation and general IT skills.
- Inventory management experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the New York OCM’s product labeling and packaging regulations.
- Ability to develop and implement manufacturing policies and procedures.
- Strong attention to details and data management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
