Role Overview
We are seeking an Agile-minded Pod Lead to guide and coordinate the delivery of one or more Pods within our scaled delivery model. In this role, you will ensure smooth end-to-end product development balancing scope, timelines, and resources while collaborating closely with the Tech Lead on technical architecture and design decisions. The Tech Lead will retain ownership of coding standards, best practices, and final design reviews, whereas you (the Pod Lead) will focus on Agile facilitation, delivery coordination, and cross-team synchronization.
Key Responsibilities
- Python Expertise
- Demonstrate proficiency in Python for back-end services, integrations, or data-focused components.
- Coordinate with the Tech Lead to ensure Python-based workflows align with overall coding standards and best practices.
- Full-Stack Development
- Possess a solid understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., HTML/CSS/JavaScript frameworks, databases, and server-side architectures).
- Provide leadership in balancing front-end user experience considerations with robust, scalable back-end services.
- Pod & Squad Leadership
- Oversee multiple Squads (within your Pod) to ensure efficient workflow, timely deliverables, and alignment to Agile principles.
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead to confirm Squads are adhering to approved technical standards and guidelines.
- Coach and mentor Squad members in Agile best practices, helping them become high-performing, self-organizing teams.
- End-to-End Delivery & Agile Coordination
- Take responsibility for overall project and product delivery, from requirement gathering to production release.
- Work closely with stakeholders (Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners) to define, prioritize, and deliver features.
- Partner with the Tech Lead to ensure code quality, security, and performance objectives are met, factoring in domain requirements such as space planning, lease management, and integrated workplace management systems (IWMS).
- Technical Alignment & Oversight Support
- Facilitate architecture and design discussions initiated by the Tech Lead, ensuring all Squads are aware of critical technical guidelines and decisions.
- Coordinate with the Tech Lead on technical issues or escalations that affect multiple Squads or require high-level intervention.
- Support the Tech Lead in implementing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and best-in-class coding approaches.
- AI/ML & IWMS Integration (nice-to-have)
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to incorporate AI/ML features, under the Tech Lead s guidance.
- Ensure features related to corporate building lifecycle (e.g., space planning, lease transaction) or IWMSsolutions follow a consistent integration approach communicating dependencies and technical needs to the Tech Lead for validation.
- Agile at Scale Governance & Ceremonies
- Champion Agile at Scale ceremonies (e.g., PI Planning, Retrospectives, Iteration Reviews), measuring key metrics (velocity, lead time) for continuous improvement.
- Ensure the Pod abides by governance frameworks set by the organization, reporting progress and risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across Pods, Tech Leads, and business units to remove delivery bottlenecks.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work with Project Managers and external vendors or contractors, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and scope.
- Engage with clients or key internal stakeholders to gather feedback, provide status updates, and ensure expectations are managed.
- Maintain strong communication channels with the Tech Lead, particularly regarding technical challenges, timelines, and resource allocation needs.
- Continuous Improvement & Team Health
- Encourage peer reviews, shared learnings, and mentorship within and across Squads.
- Promote a culture of open feedback and retrospective analysis to drive meaningful improvements in processes and delivery outcomes.
- Partner with the Tech Lead to explore and adopt new tools or technologies that enhance team efficiency and product quality.
What We re Looking For
- Extensive Agile Leadership: 5 years managing Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, or similar), ideally in a scaled environment with multiple teams.
- Proficiency in Python & Full-Stack Development: Solid experience working with Python for back-end services or data-driven applications. Comfortable with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, .NET), plus database design principles.
- Solid Understanding of Software Development: Able to interface effectively with the Tech Lead, engineering, and analytics teams on topics such as DevOps, security best practices, and cloud platforms.
- Strong Collaboration & Communication: Skilled at bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders, promoting clarity, and resolving conflicts.
- Experience in Real Estate / IWMS (a plus): Familiarity with space planning, lease management, and the corporate building lifecycle is highly advantageous.
- AI/ML & Data Engineering Acumen (a plus): Awareness of how machine learning models are integrated and deployed, with the ability to coordinate with specialized teams (formal AI/ML experience is a plus).
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to remove blockers, manage risks, and pivot effectively to keep delivery on track.
