Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in various payroll systems.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy, including 10 key typing for payroll-related information.
- Utilize accounting software and payroll management systems such as ADP, PeopleSoft, Paychex, or Kronos to manage payroll functions effectively.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including hours worked, deductions, and tax information.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate reporting of employee status changes affecting payroll.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required by management or regulatory agencies.
- Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and responding to employee inquiries regarding paychecks or deductions.
- Support corporate accounting functions by providing necessary payroll data for financial reporting.
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll management or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with accounting software and tools such as ADP, PeopleSoft, Paychex, or Kronos is highly desirable.
- Strong data entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting principles is a plus but not mandatory.
