Well, you’re in the right place! Western Power Pool is hiring a System Administrator to join our team in Portland, OR!

 

 

Key Details:

  • Pay: $75,000 – 85,000/year DOE
  • Location: Hybrid flexible - must reside within the Portland Metro area
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm PST
  • Benefits: Employer-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance; PTO, 10 paid holidays, company-funded Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), 401k with 6% match, and flexible hybrid working schedule

Who You Are:  You're a tech-savvy problem solver with experience in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and system administration. You excel at troubleshooting, managing access controls, and ensuring seamless IT operations. You're a strong communicator who can support both technical and non-technical staff, and you're excited to contribute to a growing, mission-driven organization. You are eager to help scale technology infrastructure in a collaborative setting.

 

Qualifications include:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator, Jr. Systems Administrator, or other applicable experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Microsoft 365 Services and SharePoint site administration: including access control, email distribution lists, and user account management in an enterprise environment
  • Skilled in Windows and Mac OS, endpoint troubleshooting, and system management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical staff and customers
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • BS in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience

 

What You’ll Do: You'll provide technical support to ensure smooth IT operations, troubleshooting software and hardware issues for staff. You'll manage Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, handling access controls, email distribution lists, and guest accounts. You'll also support network and system projects, collaborate with teams to minimize downtime, and stay ahead of technology trends to help improve and scale the organization's infrastructure.

 

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides technical support—identifying, investigating, and resolving users’ problems with computer software and hardware—for problems specific to the organization’s endpoints
  • Maintains Access Control for SharePoint site Pages, Folders, and Document libraries
  • Manages Email distribution lists membership
  • Assists with maintaining FTP site membership and access in collaboration with other IT Staff
  • Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems
  • Collaborates with Program Managers and other staff during projects prior to causing any possible downtime during troubleshooting
  • Collaborates with Head of Department to explain errors and recommend modifications to systems and networks
  • Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products
  • Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends related to job requirements
