Headquartered in Westphalia, Germany, our client is an independent, mid-sized family-owned, and service-oriented manufacturer of high-quality cold-rolled products. They meet all customer-specific requirements regarding material properties, accuracy, and surface quality. Their products mainly serve the automotive, power, chemical, medical, and aerospace industries. Outside Germany, our client has production facilities in China, as well as in the US.
Ihre Aufgaben
For their facility (Cold Rolling Plant) in the US (East Coast), our client is seeking a self-driven professional General Manager (m / f / d). Reporting directly to the Management in Germany, the main responsibilities of the GM are, but not limited to :
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities, including production and workforce.
- Act as the link between the parent company in Germany and the US facility.
- Develop and execute the production plan to produce high-quality products on time.
- Support each functional area, such as sales, marketing, HR, production, P&L, etc.
- Develop new customer relations in the market.
- Establish production processes and reliable quality for new customers and products.
- Follow existing laws and rules.
Ihr Profil
You might already have an MBA or a BS in Mechanical or Electrotechnical Engineering or a comparable degree with a strong technical background. More important is that you have at least 5 years of experience in responsible positions, e.g., executive management, technical management, or sales, preferably in a medium-sized, international manufacturing company (General Manager, Project Manager, or Team Leader, preferably in the sheet metal and / or coil processing industry). You are a self-driven professional manager with excellent communication and negotiation skills (Fluent in English; ability to speak, write, and read German is a Plus), entrepreneurial thinking, and performance-minded practice. You are a team player with decision-making skills, a progressive thinker, and have the ability to thrive in a multicultural and collaborative atmosphere. A solid base in finance and budget responsibility would be a plus.
We are looking for candidates already based in the USA with a permanent work permit for a rolling U.S.-contract or candidates to fill this vacancy via deployment starting with a fixed-term German contract.
