Description of the role:
The Respiratory Therapist Peds will be responsible for providing respiratory care to pediatric patients under the supervision of physicians and within the scope of their licensure. They will assess patients' respiratory conditions, develop and implement care plans, administer treatments, and evaluate patient responses. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor pediatric patients' respiratory conditions
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans as needed
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory care and disease management
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
Requirements:
- Valid license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Florida
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric respiratory care
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and procedures
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
