Summary
We are currently seeking an Electrical Design Technician. This opportunity will allow you to design the electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Typical drawings deal with power distribution, lighting, instrumentation, communication systems, fire alarm, and electrical details and one-line diagrams. Experience in Revit is required. Familiarity with design elements of Civil projects and experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is preferred.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Completes detailed drawings from drawing markups, rough sketches, and/or verbal instructions or notes with limited direction from other staff.
- Revises drawings and completes basic calculations used in the completion of engineering plans.
- Develops detailed electrical drawings of buildings/structures and installations such as pump stations, water towers, site utilities, water and wastewater treatment systems, and other miscellaneous improvements.
- Participates, as needed, in design meetings with engineering and client staff to fully understand expected project outcomes.
- May accompany engineers and/or field technicians as needed in order to collect data required for revision of construction drawings.
- Works under the guidance of “lead” design technicians and/or engineers to complete assigned work within budgeted timeframes.
- Works with company-developed CADD standards in order to establish projects in a manner which increases the ability of other technicians or location personnel to assist with project design.
- Reviews own work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to Project Manager or engineering staff for review.
Education And Experience
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced skills in Revit are required.
- We also prefer experience in specific software such as AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D applications.

Compensation Range
$26.54 per hour - $41.10 per hour
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Minnesota Omnibus Labor and Industry Policy Bill Article 7 Section 2. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
