Are you a dynamic leader passionate about managing complex transportation projects and building strong client relationships? We’re looking for a Transportation Project Manager to join our team and make a lasting impact on the development and improvement of Texas’ roadway and highway infrastructure.
In this role, you will oversee projects such as roadway design, highway reconstruction, and stormwater systems while working closely with clients like the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and local municipalities. You’ll lead cross-functional project teams, and deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that enhance safety and mobility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead all phases of medium to complex transportation infrastructure projects, including design-build (DB) and public works, specializing in highway design, roadway projects, and TxDOT-related initiatives.
- Oversee scope development, budgeting, and contract administration for multimillion-dollar projects within the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) framework.
- Direct cross-functional project teams to deliver safe and efficient transportation design solutions, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and client expectations in compliance with TxDOT standards.
- Proactively manage project schedules and resources to meet milestones and optimize transportation project delivery across highway and roadway sectors.
- Conduct traffic control and phase reviews for compliance with construction, highway design engineering standards, and TxDOT regulations.
- Facilitate project kickoff and status updates with stakeholders, addressing technical and financial inquiries promptly, while ensuring alignment with TxDOT guidelines.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) to maintain high safety, compliance, and TxDOT project standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and design professionals, fostering leadership within transportation project teams with a focus on highway design and public infrastructure.
Client Relations & Business Development
- Act as a primary client liaison, building long-term relationships and ensuring client satisfaction with transportation design solutions that meet TxDOT and state specifications.
- Identify new transportation project opportunities, leveraging TxDOT experience to develop targeted marketing strategies for highway design, roadway construction, and public infrastructure projects.
- Prepare competitive proposals with detailed scopes, budgets, and schedules for large-scale highway, bridge, and transportation engineering projects in line with TxDOT requirements.
- Represent the firm at industry events and conferences
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 10 years or more of progressively responsible experience in project management, highway and roadway design or TxDOT schematic development.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Strong project skills with the ability to manage schedules, budgets, and multiple clients/projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Knowledgeable in software such as OpenRoads, Geopak, MicroStation, and other civil design tools.
