Summary
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to support our Water Resources group in Denver, Colorado! Our Water Resources services cover a broad array of work, including moving projects from conceptual planning through design, financing, permitting, and construction. Typical projects for Water Resources include master drainage plans; hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; stormwater system design; natural stream design, restoration and enhancement; and permitting and compliance with local, state and federal agencies, including CLOMRs/LOMRs.
The position is accountable for the successful design and management of assigned projects, marketing and client development, technical quality, profitability, schedule, project staff coordination, client communications, scoping and negotiating scopes and fees, client follow-up, billing/collections and maintenance. The Project Manager must maintain superior relationships with each of his/her clients and direct periodic communication with team members is essential. The successful candidate will manage several projects and tasks, and may be responsible for completing those tasks, simultaneously.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Prepares scopes of services, detailed project budgets, and contracts specific to water resources engineering projects.
- Uses professional judgment to independently complete water resources engineering tasks within federal, state, and local established criteria.
- Is responsible for ensuring each project is completed on time and within budget.
- Regularly monitors project schedules and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Leads formal Project Reviews.
- Assigns and manages tasks, schedules, and budgets for project team members (including any sub-contractors).
- Coordinates project scheduling and conducts “kick-off” and interim project status meetings with the project team.
- Documents the performance of project team members through completion of Project Staff Reviews.
- Communicates significant performance issues to team members and Practice Leaders to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- Ensures the accuracy of completed tasks using HR Green's established QA/QC processes for water resources projects.
- Completes major design tasks that meet the needs of internal and external customers in the water resources sector.
- Monitors and proactively identifies or corrects technical, schedule, or financial issues through effective communication with staff.
- Assists clients in bidding or contractor selection.
- Monitors construction and supervises field personnel assigned to a task, data collection, or a specific water resources project.
- Serves as the primary client contact for selected projects.
- Responds to contractor questions and issues and prepares and issues project addenda as needed.
- Recommends and prepares change orders related to projects.
- Signs and seals engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company for water resources projects.
Business Development
- Provides input into the creation of marketing plans and maintains regular and accurate records of marketing activities with individual clients in the relevant sector.
- Identifies water resources project opportunities and provides input to the Go/No Go decision process.
- Participates in the preparation of engineering services proposals, including interviews, calculation/estimation of time schedules, and costs of proposed water resources work.
- May present water resources projects to clients on a regular basis and may present proposals to clients and/or take a lead role in interviews.
- Cross-markets other firm services as appropriate to his/her clients within industry.
- Participates in professional society activities related to water resources professionals.
Communication
- Independently communicates on technical matters with the client.
- Responsible for coordinating the timely invoicing and collection of fees.
- Maintains contact with the client after the project is completed and cross-markets other services as appropriate.
- Assures project correspondence is complete and appropriate, ensuring established lines of communication are maintained with the client, contractors, sub-consultants, and team members involved in their projects.
- Partner cross-functionally with other business units, including Land Development.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Colorado. Ability to obtain licensure in one or more other states in which HR Green conducts business is preferred. The employee must be capable of driving/operating a motor vehicle for company business, and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.

Compensation Range
$123,800.00 to $202,800.00
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
