This is a great opportunity for a Traffic Engineer to work with a dynamic team on complex transportation projects. What will you be doing?
- Work as part of a team as well as independently in learning, evaluating, and applying engineering principles, standards, and criteria
- Assist in conducting studies, field reviews and site investigations
- Assist in preparing traffic operation analysis, traffic signal timing plans, traffic impact analysis and transportation planning studies
- Utilize various modeling tools for traffic analysis (Synchro, VISSIM, HCS) for a variety of conditions and needs at intersection, along arterial corridors and freeway segments
- Assist in performing road safety assessments, transportation corridor studies, traffic signal warrant studies, speed studies and safety analyses
- Assist in designing work zone traffic control plans, traffic signal design plans and sign and marking design plans
- Utilize transportation databases (such as StreetLight Data or ClearGuide) and/or GIS tools for analysis of transportation systems
- Develop report and supporting documentation
- Performing other duties as assigned
What are we looking for?
- A candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited four-year or graduate engineering university in relevant discipline
- A candidate with two plus years of relevant experience
- A candidate with proficient knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Proficiency in VISSIM and Synchro is preferred
- A candidate with proficient knowledge of traffic signal / ITS design is preferred
- GIS and database management capabilities are a plus
