JOB DESCRIPTION
The Cart Production and Packaging Supervisor, employed by HR MGMT 10 LLC as the Employer of Record, will work on-site at one of our brand partners' cannabis production facilities. This role is responsible for overseeing both the production and packaging of vape cartridges, ensuring all activities meet the brand partner’s quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The Cart Production and Packaging Supervisor will manage a team of production and packaging staff, coordinate daily operations, and maintain compliance with state and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in cannabis production or a similar regulated industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to optimize production efficiency and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Packaging Management:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production and packaging activities for vape cartridges, ensuring all processes adhere to the brand partner’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.
- Develop and implement production and packaging schedules to meet daily and weekly output targets while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Monitor and adjust production and packaging workflows to ensure optimal use of resources, minimizing downtime and waste.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of all production and packaging equipment, coordinating with the maintenance team for repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, train, and manage a team of production and packaging staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team skills and productivity.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate production and packaging goals, updates, and any changes to SOPs or safety protocols.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all production and packaging activities comply with state and local cannabis regulations, as well as the brand partner’s quality standards.
- Conduct routine quality checks on products throughout the production and packaging processes to ensure consistency, potency, and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of production and packaging activities, including batch records, equipment logs, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and practices align with regulatory and brand partner requirements.
Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team and other departments to identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Lead initiatives to enhance production and packaging processes, reduce defects, and improve overall efficiency in the cart production and packaging department.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices related to vape cartridge production and packaging.
Safety and Hazard Management:
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire safety protocols, and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and drills to ensure a safe working environment for all production and packaging staff.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with the brand partner’s production management, procurement, and inventory teams to ensure adequate supply of raw materials, packaging, and other production necessities.
- Provide regular reports to the Production Manager and other stakeholders on production and packaging metrics, findings, and improvement initiatives.
- Address production and packaging-related questions or concerns from other departments, providing guidance and support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production and packaging management, preferably within the cannabis, food and beverage, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Strong understanding of production and packaging methodologies, regulatory requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a production and packaging team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in production management software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required state-specific certifications for cannabis production and packaging.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks typical of a production and packaging environment.
