Job Summary:
A SNF facility is seeking an experienced and motivated Admissions Director to manage the admissions process for our skilled nursing facility. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless transition for new residents and their families while maintaining census goals. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the long-term care industry, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the admissions process from initial inquiry to resident onboarding, ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, case managers, and other referral sources to drive admissions.
- Meet census and occupancy goals by actively promoting the facility’s services and coordinating outreach efforts.
- Coordinate pre-admission screenings to determine clinical eligibility and ensure appropriate placement of residents.
- Communicate with residents and families to provide information, answer questions, and guide them through the admissions process.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and administrative teams to ensure a smooth transition for new residents.
- Maintain accurate admission records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct tours of the facility for potential residents, families, and referral sources.
- Assist in marketing efforts to promote the facility’s services to the community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, social work, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in healthcare admissions, marketing, or case management, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance processes related to skilled nursing admissions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
