What are the responsibilities and job description for the Countertop Fabricator position at HR Outfitters?
The Countertop Fabricator will interact with customers by addressing inquiries during normal business hours. He/she is responsible for ensuring countertops are assembled, finished and installed to meet customer expectations in a timely and accurate manner. The Countertop Fabricator is expected to complete job paperwork accurately and assist owner with daily shop requirements. The Countertop Fabricator does not supervise any employees. He/she will report directly to the shop lead or the President.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Fabricating countertops to customer specifications.
- Assist in ensuring timely delivery of products based on production schedule.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Attends all meetings and trainings as required.
- Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment.
- Ability to utilize relevant math skills.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions.
- Drive company vehicle, as needed, in a safe and courteous manner, obeying all local, state and federal traffic laws.
- Complete customer installations as timely and efficiently as possible, according to project plans.
- Ensure installation vans have the proper tools and job site products on hand for project needs.
- Interacts with customers and team members in a friendly and professional demeanor. Ensures effective and quality customer service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Service-oriented and able to satisfactorily resolve customer issues.
- Ability to read building blueprints and hand drawn diagrams.
- Mus be able to accurately distinguish color.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; willingness to work independently.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety procedures and uses equipment and materials according to established safety procedures.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and distinguish product color.
- Valid Ohio driver license; must be insurable under company policy.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required: Coursework or training in carpentry may be considered in lieu of high school diploma.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a carpentry related field preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience with power tools (router, nail gun, iron, miter saw, tape measure).
- Basic knowledge shop tool safety.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or shop environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking while working in the shop.
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- The employee may periodically be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors or dust. Employees are required to wear all PPE for job specific tasks.
- Constantly operates shop machinery, such as a table saws, chop saws, hand and fixed sanders computer printer, etc.
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.
- Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds independently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
