We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for our CVICU team. The CNS provides advanced clinical expertise in a specialized area of nursing practice (e.g., pediatrics, oncology, adult medicine). This role focuses on improving patient care outcomes, enhancing staff knowledge and competency, and advancing evidence-based nursing practices.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Expertise :
- Establish and monitor care standards, recommending improvements to enhance clinical outcomes.
Collaborate with nursing staff to assess the age-specific needs of patients and families, developing care plans for complex, high-risk cases.
Evaluate the effectiveness of care and implement necessary adjustments.
Education & Staff Development :
Design and deliver patient and family teaching programs, supporting nursing staff in implementation.
Consultation & Leadership :
Provide expert consultation to physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers for inpatient and outpatient care.
Quality Assurance & Improvement :
Participate in QA&I initiatives by monitoring, establishing standards, and evaluating outcomes.
Discharge Planning :
Ensure the implementation of an effective and coordinated discharge planning program.
Staff Competency & Support :
Assist in interviewing and evaluating staff for clinical competence.
