Medical Assistant -This is a Full-time in-person position opportunity. Our Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the office and health practitioner running smoothly. They serve as the first point of contact for all those who enter our medical facility and are responsible for a variety of activities related to patient intake and care. The Medical Assistant performs essential functions such as maintaining patient accounts with billing procedures, transcription, scheduling, insurance claims, and database entry. This position also includes dealing with the public, both by phone and in-person, so courtesy and helpfulness are essential skills. Our ideal candidate has an openness to cross training and developing new skills.

- 9:00 PM -5:00 PM

Administrative duties:
- Front desk reception.
- Answers phones and schedules appointments.
- Greeting patients, completion of registration forms, and give instructions.
- Files and maintains medical and financial records
- Prepares and types of correspondence
- Processes, codes, and completes insurance claim forms
- Processes mail
- Purchases and maintains supplies and equipment
- Maintain patient account with billing procedures
- Arranges for hospital admissions and external referrals
- Calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy.
- Able to communicate appropriately by using accurate medical terminology
- Follow appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct
- Performs other position-related duties as assigned
- Measures and records vital signs.
- Records patient interview, history, and concerns
- Provides patient education with regards to medications, management of diagnoses, home treatments and special diets
- Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests
- Assists physician with exams
- Performs basic lab tests such as, phlebotomy, EKG, and collection of other lab specimens.
- Assists with X-ray and physical therapy procedures
- Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization
- Change dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures
- Use CPR skills when necessary.
- Maintains medical supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments
- Practices OSHA safety standards
- Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- Uses a working knowledge of all OSHA and HIPPA Protocols.
- Performs other position-related duties as assigned
- It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds on any given day. Lifting to 40-50 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year Medical Assistant experience in corresponding setting is preferred
- Clear background check
- Eighteen (18) years or older
- Federal, State, and GHR-required credentials current and on file
- Able to read and write consistently with job requirements
- Proficient interpersonal and communication skills
