We are a leading company in the construction and oil & gas industry, specializing in utility pipeline services, earthwork, oil and gas industrial cleaning, and trucking services. Our team is dedicated to efficiency, quality, and safety. We are looking for a Warehouse Manager / Purchaser to oversee inventory, manage the warehouse, assist operations, and handle procurement to ensure seamless daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Shop Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the warehouse to ensure efficiency and organization.
- Maintain and enforce safety procedures and compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage and track inventory levels, ensuring adequate supplies and materials for operations.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs of tools, equipment, and fleet vehicles as needed.
- Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring proper workflow and productivity.
- Organize and optimize warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval of materials.
Purchasing & Inventory Control:
- Research, source, and negotiate pricing with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best value.
- Manage purchasing orders, ensuring timely procurement of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Track deliveries, inspect shipments for quality and accuracy, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain records of purchases, inventory, and expenses for reporting and budgeting.
- Establish relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable sourcing.
Logistics & Coordination:
- Coordinate deliveries and shipments to job sites if necessary, ensuring timely supply chain management.
- Work closely with project managers and field supervisors to anticipate material needs.
- Ability to deliver urgent items or tools to project sites or pickup them up at a location when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management and purchasing, preferably in the construction or trucking industry.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with construction and trucking materials, tools, and equipment used in the oil and gas industry.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team.
- Ability to work with other departments and be a cohesive part of a team.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills for vendor and supplier interactions.
- Proficiency in inventory tracking software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and ERP systems (Sortly).
- Ability to lift heavy materials and operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
