This is a temporary, part time position (20 hours/week; 4 hours per day for 5 days a week)
FOTEP (Female Offender Treatment and Employment Program), a program of HealthRIGHT 360, is a comprehensive rehabilitation and support program designed to help women involved in the criminal justice system. FOTEP focuses on providing a holistic approach to recovery, addressing issues such as substance use, trauma, mental health, and employment readiness. The program offers a combination of treatment, education, and life skills training to support women in overcoming barriers to reentry and achieving long-term stability. It includes services like counseling, job training, and assistance with housing, aiming to empower women to successfully reintegrate into society and reduce recidivism.
The Temporary Intake Coordinator I plays a crucial role within an interdisciplinary team, facilitating the seamless completion of admissions and intakes into the program. They oversee the screening process for all new clients, ensuring that each individual is appropriately assessed. As the first point of contact, the Intake Coordinator I must maintain a welcoming and professional demeanor, while also possessing the skills to manage challenging situations and individuals effectively. In addition, they are responsible for clearly explaining the program’s policies, philosophies, and the legal rights and responsibilities of clients, ensuring that all participants are well-informed and supported throughout the intake process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Service•Facilitate orientation classes.•Participate in program presentations at parole units, in-custody settings, and other facilities.•Conduct initial assessment and intake evaluation for the formulation of treatment plan.•Consult regularly with other staff to ensure clients meet criteria for safe admission to an appropriate level of treatment.•Provide case management services.•Ensure clients’ urgent needs are met and appropriate referrals have been made.•Transport incoming clients when the driver is unavailable.•Provide crisis intervention as needed.•Provide a warm handoff to assigned treatment staff upon completion of the admissions process.•Provide follow-up to ensure services are obtained.Clinical Documentation•Maintain compliance with the due dates for all clinical documentation.•Maintain confidential client records and prepare client progress reports and other required documentation in a timely manner.•Accurately enter data in various electronic systems for all clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.Administration and Other Duties•Establish community relations and linkages with other service providers and community services.•Act as a liaison with community providers.•Actively participate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and treatment team reviews of client progress.•Attend meetings and actively participate.•Complete assigned training on time.•Meet service delivery goals.•Read and respond to communications in a timely manner.•Maintain full compliance with registration or certification requirements.•Occasionally perform functions relevant to the needs of the program, clients, or the organization, which may be outside the everyday functions of the job.And perform other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Certification, or Licensure•High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field preferred.•Registration or Certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor from an accredited California agency (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP).•Valid California Driver’s License.
Experience•At least two years’ experience working with the criminal justice population.•Experience in culturally diverse populations with substance use disorders, mental health, and/or co-occurring disorders.•Experience conducting assessments and providing appropriate diagnoses.
