Job Description
PEU uses data to identify the right outreach targets. We seek two early-career Outreach Data Specialists to help implement and report on on-going outreach and community engagement activities. Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, an Outreach Data Specialist assists in developing and planning community programs; provides necessary and important community services; and collaborates with other Outreach Specialists at PEU.
PEU is recruiting two (2) Community Associates to function as Outreach Data Specialists who will:
- Liaise with partners who provide external data sources, including from other City agencies, to
- Train and support PEU staff in the use of various outreach data systems, including the Voter
- Use data to build dashboards, reports and presentations that inform the strategy and execution
- Coordinate PEU Outreach Specialists’ contact with NYC residents to address their needs around
- Record the results of outreach activities in custom-built software systems.

Hours/Schedule: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm or Tuesday - Saturday 10:30am – 6:30pm

Minimum Qualifications
Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Preferred Skills
- 1 years working with outreach data in government. - A demonstrated interest in public service and improving outcomes for New Yorkers. - Experience with outreach data platforms (e.g., EveryAction/VAN, Salesforce, etc.) and/or a peer-to-peer texting platform (Hustle, ThruText, Spoke, etc.). - Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. - Strong written and oral communication skills in English. - Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. - Willingness to learn, be flexible and adapt to work assignments in a variety of situations and problem solve.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
